6a Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends

Economic trends: Shifting Workforce Demographics Source:  https://commercial.jpmorganchase.com/pages/commercial-banking/executive-connect/six-key-economic-trends I believe that there is an opportunity here because the trend shows that as more of the "baby-boomer" generation moves out of the workforce, more jobs will become available to the ever growing market. The prototypical customer here is the working class in the generations following the baby-boomers. And as more jobs open, more trades and careers will be need to be filled. This opportunity would be easy to exploit for several reasons. More jobs being created with more people needing jobs is beneficial. Also, as more people go to work, more people will be strengthening the economy, adding opportunity. I saw the opportunity because I have seen the effect of the baby-boomer on the job selection process. My dad had trouble finding working and was in and out of work during the early 2010's, even though he had a d...

5a Identifying Local Opportunities

Article 1: Make Region Safer For Walkers, Cyclists https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&t=pubname%3ASPTB%21Tampa%2BBay%2BTimes%2B%2528FL%2529/year%3A2019%212019/mody%3A0125%21January%2B25&f=advanced&action=browse&format=text&docref=news/1712D2C5D87225F0 In this article the author makes claims that the Tampa Bay area is one of the most dangerous places for pedestrian walkers and bikers. The argument is made that cars and driving has become safer but there has been no regard made for pedestrians. Also a study referenced in the article showed that minority groups are more likely to be victims of accidents and those in lower income neighborhoods are 2.5 times more likely to die as a pedestrian. The problem presented in the article is that nothing is being done to keep walkers and cyclists safe as cars become more and more prevalent on our roads. The problem effects pedestrians, but it a problem that is also a responsibility of drivers. ...

4a Forming An Opportunity Belief

Forming An Opportunity Belief I believe that that there is an unmet need in movie theaters to limit the amount of distraction that occur during a film. Those who visit theaters have this need. This is not a new need, theaters have been advertising the limit of phone usage and talking during screenings through many different avenues. Starting with the signs that greet you as you enter the theater, all the way to the M&Ms in the commercials prior to the film who are always distracted by a phone going off in the crowd. The phone problem use to not be such a big deal but the talking always has. I am 60% sure that this opportunity to reform the way theaters attack distractions exists. #1: Mom of two: How often do you go to the movies? "Whenever a new Star Wars or Marvel movie comes out. I mainly go for my boys." Do you experience any distractions during the film? "Yes, there is always something that takes away from the experience." How often do you e...

3a My Entrepreneurship Story

Image
My Entrepreneurship Story My first entrepreneurship experience was when I was in high school. Clearwater High had a business program where I was able to do research on how to start a business idea and actually was able to produce some of the product. The project started with the class studying different episodes of Shark Tank. From that we learned that our product needed to either be completely new and unique, or it had to be the solution to a common problem. My team decided to go with the unique direction. We created a brand that sold cupcakes in little clay pots that were decorated with tiny flowers and succulents. Our unique contribution was that at the bottom of each pot were seeds to start your own garden with the clay pot. It was a great product and idea, however, it was not the most sustainable. It costed a lot of time and money and did not have a great pay out. I enrolled into ENT 3003 because I love using critical thinking to solve ordinary problems. I am not a busin...

2a Bug List

Bug List The line at the UF book store is too long. It is too long because a lot of text books are not available online. The air conditioner in my dorm room is tool loud. Its loud because the fan blades are not well enclosed. My lunch always gets cold when its in my pack back throughout the day. It gets cold because the thing I use to carry it does a poor job of insulation. I have a hard time carrying all of my school stuff in my backpack. My backpack is too small but larger ones are uncomfortable. In the mornings my hair is flat from where I have slept on it and I can't fix it without showering. Its hard because I do not do my hair with products. My dorm room smells in my room. It smells because the AC is dirty. I can hear people talking while I watch movies. I can hear them because they are either too close or the movie might not interest them. Traffic is terrible on archer around 5 o'clock. This is probably because there are a lot of students...
