14A – Halfway Reflection

- Tenaciousness is a competency
- The requirements for this class can seem to be a little overwhelming at times, but that is because it is an online class and is supposed to have the same fullness of an in class lecture. So to keep up with the class assignments I set reminders ins my calendar to make sure that I do the blogg posts on time with enough time to do a thorough job on them.
- Tenaciousness is also about attitude
- When I feel like giving up I usually have to set my mind on the goal I have in mind and the consequences of not finishing that goal. Over the last two months my tenacity has definitely increased. I think that having 17 credits this semester and four of those classes being online has helped flex that muscle. I have to stay on top of my assignments and make sure that I get them done well and on time.
- Three tips
- Stay focused on your goal. The end result should be what drives you towards completing the task
- Think about what would happen if you do not complete your goal and what the consequences would be. This makes completing your goal even more important.
- Make a list. Write out everything that can and will try to get in your way of completing a task and start chopping away at them until there is nothing in your way.
I liked your tips. I keep an agenda. In college studnets have so many assignemnts it can be easy to forget one. It is also helps to complete task when you are driven. You give good advise for when a person feels like giving up. I am taking 15 credits and I feel like that is a lot. I can not imagine 17. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI use some of those same tips myself. I think keeping a list also helps me stay organized and provides me with motivation as I see myself crossing off each item. You definitely seem to possess tenacity! I have done three classes online before and that was almost too much so I couldn't even imagine taking 4 plus any additional in person classes.
