19A – Idea Napkin No. 2
You: My name is Mitchell Shedd, a second year student at the University of Florida. I have the wit of John Mulaney partnered with a business mindset. But what does that mean? It means I can see the things that others would otherwise right off. I also have a drive to see others thrive in a capitalist market. I want to see the capitalist american business man or woman thrive and truly flew the muscle of the free market economy. This is why I have developed SecureU, to protect the businesses that run the markets that we so regularly take advantage of. I have tried other business ideas and read many articles and from that I have concluded that we need to protect our money from the inside out.
What are you offering customers: SecureU is going to protect your money from the inside out, but how? We are going to actively monitor your finances through a software that you'll download on all company products. This software will allow SecureU to track where your money travels from the time it enters your hands and someday leaves it. There is also a 24/7 call center here in the US that will notify when something is red flagged or if you have any questions or suspicions. The idea here is that if we can protect your money from the fraudulent use of your employees who have access to your bank accounts, we can prevent corruption of your company from the inside out.
Who are you offering it to: My target customers are all business owners: Big, Small, or Not-For-Profit. I want to get the attention of those in the companies who are either the owners or the most responsible for the company finances.
Why do they care: My product matters to these business owners because the finances of the company are the most important thing besides its consumers of their product.
What are your core competencies: SecureU is different because we are not in just in it for a lucrative business venture. We genuinely want to support the free market and capitalism by protecting the very thing that runs your business. Without financial security, we lack security of the free market.
Evaluation: I believe that all of the elements here fit well together to make my product a worthy investment to other companies. I think that I was able to set a scene that was can be well received by a business owner. I think that the honesty of the 5 elements can be very attractive to the potential investor.
Feedback memo: I really only received one true cirque from the comment section which was that it will be hard to get a company to trust mine with their finances and account numbers. I saw that to be true and that is why in this napkin idea I wanted to relate better and be more personal with the potential consumer. Allowing them to see my intentions and heart for what I plan on doing will make me more trustworthy.

Hey Mitchell,
ReplyDeleteYour post was very informative about the kind of person that you are. You know exactly what you want to provide to consumers and the target audience you want. As my only critique, I think you should explain a little more why customers care and your core competencies. These could really secure your pitch to future consumers.
